  • For the Marriage
    that Comes After the Wedding

This is such a special time. This is your person. The one you want to go through life with. And you get to celebrate!

And while you celebrate, you also have a beautiful opportunity to prepare and set intention for the road ahead. Because, after all, this is a marriage we are talking about, not a fairy tale happily-ever-after.

(I’m sure I’m not bursting your bubble when I say: chances are good that there will be hard times in your marriage, no matter how in love you feel right now.)

    Love Research

We all know the famous 50% statistic for 1st marriages, and divorce rates seem to go up for 2nd and 3rd marriages. So what can we do to create a marriage that breaks the odds?

There is so much good news.

We are living in the golden age of love research. We know what practices help couples maintain connection and reap the tremendous health and wellness benefits of a happy marriage. We know that connected and meaningful conversation now will grow strong sturdy relationship roots to weather the likley storms ahead.

You can use the good connection you feel now to craft healthy ways of coping with conflict, talk about core plans and values, make your union truly sacred.

    What Is Premarital Counseling?

Premarital counseling is for happy engaged couples who want to put time into deepening their knowledge of one another and their goals. It often runs between 2-4 sessions. In these sessions, we address the things that are important to you as you start your life together.

It is not for unhappy engaged couples, who would do better with regular couples therapy.

One of the topics that comes up when a wedding date is set is planning the vows and ceremony. During discussions around these plans, there will be a conversation and understanding around what your marriage means.

Have you and your fiancée discussed your plans for children and parenting?

Want to lay out plans for relating to the extended family?

Engaging in premarital counseling provides a platform to learn your unique couple characteristics and lay a strong foundation.

Premarital counseling is a positive, pro-active way to step into this next chapter.

I love joining couples on this beautiful journey.
